How it's built, and how to check it
Every correction — historical time zone, longitude, the equation of time — is shown on the free calculator before you pay anything. Each interpretive chapter names the classical source it reads from, and every source cited is listed in full at the end of the document; the readings themselves are reviewed by a practising BaZi consultant with more than two decades of client work (about). The engine itself is checked against a public cross-engine test corpus on every build, and the conventions it follows — where schools genuinely disagree — are stated plainly on the methodology page, not buried in fine print.
Before you buy
What if I don't know my birth hour?
Tick “I don't know the birth time” on the calculator. The report is then written from the three pillars your birth date settles — year, month and day — with the same chapters a known birth time gives. With a gender given, the luck-pillar chapter still prints the whole sequence of decades, without an onset age or the ages and years beside each decade: the onset is counted from your birth moment to a solar term, so it moves with the hour. On a date where a solar term changes the year or month pillar partway through the day, that pillar depends on the hour as well, so no report is offered until you enter a birth time, and nothing is charged. The rule is published as the unknown-hour convention.
